Destruction/Construction Part 2

There is a time of limbo, between destruction, and the beginning of construction.

Whether destruction is predetermined or not, parameters must be drawn, measurements made, patching  done. A coat of paint is applied – a bit carelessly, because it’s temporary, after all. Sometimes tar is spilled onto a crack, in a vain attempt to seal it against the elements.  Serious faced workmen mark off damaged portions of concrete to draw the attention of repair crews, which fail to arrive for months.

Sometimes objects are embedded into fresh concrete intentionally, marking the process of construction.

Are these first inklings of construction beautiful? Is the destruction they replace ugly?

What do you see?
